innocence. animals represent innocence. they can’t understand what’s going on. they did nothing to deserve pain. you’re beating and torturing an innocent animal that doesn’t know why, that can’t grasp why. no one can explain to them the pain they are going through and no one can help them properly. thinking about a poor dog, for example, being kicked over and over again because of our imperfections makes me cringe. most animals can think in some way, and what do you think they’re thinking? they’re scared, confused, completely ignorant as to what’s going on.

the thought of hurting something so innocent is just repulsive.

And there is the fact that, in a world of cruel humans, animals loved me and didn’t care who i was or what i did. they didn’t hurt me. they just loved me.
